When we started June, we wanted to build a product that would be warm and welcoming, in a space that's often cold and intimidating.
From day one, our ambition, was to build a product analytics tool that can take you from idea to IPO.
Over the past 5 years we've gone from zero to profitable, which is a huge achievement. That said, our goal with June was to go big and break-out, not to stay small and break-even.
What we learned is that in an existing category, it's hard to start from the bottom end of the market and grow into an enterprise product without extensive funding.
This left us with two options:
None of it felt right.
After seeing how our friends at Command AI joined Amplitude and integrated their product in just a few weeks, we realised that there was a third way:
"If you can't beat them, join them"
As a public company, Amplitude has all the resources to provide great service for both big and small businesses.
While it’s painful to say goodbye to the June product, this move gives us the opportunity to make a difference for companies of all sizes, from idea to IPO.
The team is serious about making their product the best. A year ago they launched their Amplitude Made Easy initiative, which was partly inspired by June.
They’re now giving us the opportunity to bring more of our best ideas into their product.
We're proud of the work we've done and the relationships we've built over the years.
We've fortunate enough to personally onboard more than 1,000 startups to June over the years.
We hope to have helped you in your journey to build out your vision.
We’re especially grateful to the hundreds of you who have decided to join us at Amplitude, where we’ll continue to support you in your journey.
From the early days, when Ferruccio and Enzo left Intercom to build June, we've been fortunate enough to find some early believers to back us.
As we move forward to a new chapter we wanted to thank everyone who has been part of our journey.
We want to thank Frederik Hagenauer from Speedinvest, the first investor in June, for his support and belief in our vision. And for always picking up the phone to help over the years as a Board Observer.
Y Combinator also took a chance on us admitting us to the Winter 2021 batch, and we're eternally grateful to our partners, especially Gustaf Alstr?mer and Michael Seibel for helping us navigate the chaos of our early days.
Louis Coppey from Point Nine Capital, who joined our board after leading our seed round at the end of our YC batch, for teaching us how to run a board meeting, pushing us to be better, always taking the time to speak with candidates we hoped to hire, and supporting us whenever we needed it.
And to every angel who backed us, your belief shaped what June became.
We’re proud of what we built, but even more proud of the community around it. The heart of June isn’t in the code, it’s in the people who used it, shaped it, and believed in it.
We're grateful for the past and ready for the future.
The June Team
After 5 years of building June, we're joining Amplitude to continue our mission of helping companies build better products.
